Leadership Benton County - This class takes place once a year and runs for approximately eight weeks. During that period of time, 12 to 20 people in this area who want to become more involved in the community take a rigorous course in developmental, leadership and interpersonal skills. Graduates complete the course with more confidence, a renewed spirit and fresh ideas that benefit our community.
Youth Leadership - Established in the 2001-2002 fiscal year, the Benton County Youth Leadership program offers tenth graders a scaled down version of the adult leadershp class. Students accepted for the program must meet high standards of scholastic achievement and attendance in school.
Small Business Development Assistance - The Chamber offers a wide variety of information and assistance to the small business owner and those interested in starting a small business. In addition to print information, the Chamber hosts free small business consultations on the second tuesday of each month with Ron Acree of the Small Business Development Centers. This free service, sponsored by Jackson State Community College is open to all small business owners or potential owners by appointment.
Quarterly Breakfast - Once a quarter, the Chamber holds a membership breakfast meeting at a local restaurant. The breakfasts not only offer a chance for chamber members to network with other business people, but also an opportunity to discuss topics of interest to the business community. The discussions are usually led by a professional speaker, followed by a question and answer session.
Membership Directory - Our continuously updated membership directory is a vital tool for all Chamber members. Not only is it available to all members, but can also be secured by industries looking at the area, or by tourists and new residents wanting to do business with Chamber members.
Internet Listing - A valuable new benefit of Chamber membership that assists in promoting local events, services and community resources. Every Chamber member is listed on our web site by name and/or category of business. The Chamber also provides free links to Chamber member's web sites.
Ribbon Cutting Assistance - New, expanding, or relocating businesses may want to utilize this important marketing tool.
Annual Membership Banquet - Each year in June, the Chamber hosts the annual membership banquet. The event features a keynote speaker and awards ceremony.
Referrals - The Chamber receives thousands of requests each year for goods and services referrals. ONLY Chamber members are referred. Referral cards are then mailed to the businesses that receive inquiries.
Marketing Materials Display - Members may display information about their business in the Chamber lobby. Limited space is available.
